The following root-floppy shall be considered beta software for now so try to ignore any error messages and be patient. According to my testing there are about 3 error messages due to typos. The only result is a "command not found" than the install moves on. Anyway ,if the system hangs for more than 10 minutes reboot and please email me with the exact location where, and don't forget to include a complete hardware list.

Note. This installer was modified to fix the video card detection problem. That's it,if you're making it up to the point where it will eject the CD and reboot. This is not a fix for other problems, like ATA66,SCSI cards or special modules needed. Not YET anyway. So if this set of floppies won't cut it for you drop a line to Corel. I can't help here just yet since my time is limited and as I stated before, I do not work for Corel Corporation.

Download note:If you're using Netscape press shift then click on the link, otherwise Netscape will open the image in a browser window.

First thing you will have to download the Boot floppyand the Root floppy. As you see I made a 2 floppies set because I couldn't get the needed information for a single one. Also the boot floppy is a generic one so you won't have the nice logo for lilo. Instead you'll see the kernel messages while booting and whatever comments I typed for debugging purposes, remember , it's still in beta.

To extract the images in DOS use the program rawrite from here or from the tools directory of your CD.Just go to a DOS prompt and type rawrite then enter the file name eg:boot.img and press enter. if any problems mail me.

According to CPL(Corel Public Licence) I have to describe the modified files and what was done.More detailes and comments are in the actual shell-scripts.

The following scripts were modified:

launch:Removed the running of SplashFX,echoed the steps.

start-setup:Removed SplashFX,echoed the steps, force launch anyway the next script:run-startx,modified the welcome message.

run-startx:modified so it will run xf86config instead of buildxconf ,echoed steps, removed SpashFX,modified the final check for X so it will use the VGA16 XServer if the user missconfigured X ,inserted some help messages, modified initial message.

Note:Hopefully the next release will have the echo(for steps)removed since I won't need the debugging anymore.:-)
